The family of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr. has made headlines for all the wrong reasons lately.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol records that were reviewed by Janet Oravetz of 9News, Porter’s younger brother Jevon was arrested in Boone County, Mo., on April 27 for suspicion of driving while under the influence. The 20-year-old was released on a summons.

Jevon, a 6-foot-11 forward, averaged 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game at Pepperdine last season. He recently transferred to Loyola Marymount. A spokesperson from Porter’s new school said in a statement to ESPN that the university is “aware of recent reports in the media and are gathering information about the matter.”

Jevon’s arrest came less than two weeks after another Porter brother, 22-year-old Coban, was sentenced to six years in prison over a January 2023 crash that killed another driver. The former University of Denver player admitted that he was drunk when he ran a red light and crashed into a woman named Katharina Rothman’s vehicle, killing her and leaving another passenger seriously injured.

Just days before Coban was sentenced, Jontay Porter was banned from the NBA for life for gambling.

Michael is in his fifth season with the Denver Nuggets. He is trying to help the team win back-to-back NBA titles. The 25-year-old averaged 22.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in Denver’s 4-1 series win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round of the playoffs.
